Area Foundation Hovland Scholarship
-This scholarship is available to students maintaining a
2.0 GPA. Students must be of Norwegian descent. The minimum
scholarship award would be $500 and may be renewable.
2. American Chemical Society Scholars Program
-This scholarship is available to African American students, Hispanic students, or American Indian students. The student must also be a full-time student at an accredited college or university who is majoring in chemistry or a chemistry related major. 3. American Business Woman's Scholarship
-This scholarship is awarded to a woman who is seeking a business degree or who is seeking business as a professional career. Applications received after that date will not be considered. Please contact the USF Financial Aid Office for more information.
4. The National Society of Public Accountants Scholarship Award
-Students majoring in accounting with a "B" or better grade point average may apply for this award. Applications are accepted online at www.nsacct.org or the application can be picked up in the USF Financial Aid Office.
5. Paha Ska Scholarship in the Visual Arts
-This award is given in the spirit of Lakotan Freedom and is available to those art students entering their junior or senior years at a school providing higher arts education. No consideration is given to age, gender, race, color, or creed. Consideration is given to talent and heart. Please contact the USF Financial Aid Office for more information.

-The Herman Lerdal Scholarship is a $1,000
scholarship created in honor of banker Herman Lerdal
for his service to the banking industry and to the South Dakota Bankers
Association Foundation. Those eligible include an undergraduate in the
junior year who is enrolled at any
8. John Gyles Education Fund
-The John Gyles Education Fund is a private, benevolent endeavor established nine years ago with the help of a Canadian/American benefactor. Each year, financial assistance is available to full-time students in both Canada and the United States. Full Canadian or American citizenship is a requirement. Awards are available to both male and female students for all areas of post-secondary study. A minimum GPA of 2.7 is required. Criteria other than strictly academic ability and financial need are considered in the selection process. Selected students will receive up to $3,000. Filing dates for mailing applications in 2005 are April 1st, June 1st, and November 15th. To receive an application, please contact the USF Financial Aid Office.

-To qualify as an applicant to SME's Scholarship Program, you must be: a sophomore or junior level student, pursuing a major or degree which would adequately prepare you for a career in a sales or marketing related field, pursuing a degree through graduation, and available, if chosen as a finalist, to make an oral presentation in Sioux Falls on the day of the awards ceremony.

-This scholarship is supported by the South Dakota PTA units and councils in various cities and towns throughout the state. The number of scholarships awarded each year may vary, depending upon contributions received from PTA Units and the number of applications received. The current scholarship plan is to award one or two $750 scholarships per year.

Baptist Women's Ministries of
-This scholarship is offered to either a female or male who has graduated from high school and will be attending or is currently attending an American Baptist college as an undergraduate or who is attending an American Baptist Seminary or graduate school in preparation for full time Christian vocation. The applicant must show financial need and be an active member of an American Baptist Church of Wisconsin for the preceding 12 months. Please stop by the USF Financial Aid Office if you are interested in getting the application for this award.
13. John L. Carey Scholarships
-This scholarship is a $5,000 award per year of study for liberal arts degree holders pursuing graduate studies in accounting who, in the opinion of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Selection Committee, show significant potential to become successful practitioners.
14. Sioux Valley-Southwestern Electric and Basin Electric Power Cooperative Scholarship
-Graduating high school seniors who live in a home served with electricity by Sioux Valley Southwestern are eligible to apply, as are students already enrolled in higher education. Dependents of SVSW employees who live in homes served by SVSW may also apply, but not more than one scholarship will be awarded to a SVSW employee/customer's dependent. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of an applicant's GPA, SAT/ACT test scores, activities/awards/accomplishments, work experience, and on a written recommendation from a teacher or counselor. Applications and supporting materials may be picked up in the USF Financial Aid Office.
15. Native American Women Health Education Scholarship
-The Native American Community Board has set up a scholarship fund for Yankton Sioux Women majoring in the areas of Health, Law/Criminal Justice, Education, Sociology, or Business who are a second semester freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student.
16. South Dakota Corrections Association Scholarship
-The Corrections Association will be providing one $400 college scholarship to a junior or senior majoring in a human services or correctional field. This will be awarded at the spring conference to be held in Mitchell, South Dakota, on April 27th, 28th, and 29th. The recipient will be requested to attend the conference, at our expense, to receive the award at the banquet. Applications may be picked up from the USF Financial Aid Office.
17. Daughters of American Revolution Scholarship
-This scholarship is made possible by bequests of Dorothy Day Davenport who passed away in 1980. Mrs. Davenport was a long time member of Mary Chilton Chapter DAR and sought to promote the goals and purposes of the organization in her community. In order to apply for this scholarship the applicant must be a South Dakota resident, a full-time student, and the applicant must also have at least a 3.0 GPA. 18. Rotary Scholarship
-This scholarship is designed to further international understanding and goodwill by providing studies abroad for students in more than 150 countries where Rotary clubs are located. The Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships are for one academic year abroad and provide funding for round-trip transportation, tuition and fees, room, board, some educational supplies, and language training (if necessary) up to a maximum award of $23,000 or its equivalent.
